A number of jobs were completed on the loco during April. These included installing a new coolant lift pump in the engine room for the purposes of replenishing the locos header tank without the normal rigmarole of searching for hoses and fittings. The missing hotplate from number 2 end cab is undergoing overhaul and will be installed over the coming weeks. We have discovered a slight knock on B1 cylinder, which is being caused by a faulty fuel injector; this will be replaced as soon as one of our spares returns from overhaul.
We now have 2 overhauled exhausters in stock and we are looking at swapping these out at the end of the operating season thus eliminating years of nose end oil leakage.
We ran our first ever freight charter on Monday 19th April for the East Midlands Railway Photographic Society (EMRPS). The group of photographers enjoyed ‘full sun’ for most of their day. Take a look at our to see some of their outstanding photographs!
The bogie overhaul is progressing slowly at present due to the recent poor weather and the groups work commitments. We hope to progress this project further as the weather improves, with a bogie change possibly taking place at the end of the year / early 2011.
We have added and updated our 'Model Railway ' sales pages, please take a look
