This gallery shows the current progress made with our bogie overhaul. The bogies were purchased this year from CF Booths of Rotherham and were ex 37196. We chose these bogies as they had very thick tyres although they had very slight flange thinning this was soon rectified at a pit stop on our loco wheel lathe, where full profiles were regained. As you can see the bogies are being stripped down to the bare components. The mammoth task of inspecting, cleaning, painting and renewing all worn / damaged parts has now begun.
