I must start off by saying congratulations to group members Daniel & Marie Jenner who have just been blessed with a beautiful baby girl! Another Class 37 apprentice in the offering ;-)

The locomotive received an identity change for the Eridge Executioner Running Day back in June. The loco now carries ‘Big T’s’ and is masquerading as former classmate 37153. 37153 donated her power unit to 254 at Barrow Hill before transferring into preservation. Mini sheep have also appeared on the bodysides, these were actually applied to 254 in BR days by a Barry Driver who was well know at the time for applying the motifs to Canton based Class 37s. A massive thanks to everyone that came down for the day to support the event, this generated some much-needed income for the railway and our group alike.

The loco has seen active service on a number of occasions since June’s news update. The most notable being the annual Lydd Rail Charter on the 30th July. I hope you all enjoyed the day; you certainly had the weather for it! Thanks to Chris Barrow for arranging this.

The loco is due a B exam, which will include a full bodyside filter change, exhauster oil change and minor fault rectification. This will be taking place in the coming weeks subject to shed space.

The Summer Diesel Gala (August 05th-07th) is upon us once more. Please see the Roster page for timetables. If anybody has any used ink cartridges please feel free to bring the down over the Diesel Gala Weekend and give them to a member of the 37254 Team who will be very happy to receive them.
