September and October have been busy months for our group once again. On the Maintenance side the locomotive has undergone a B exam, which has included an oil and filter change. Chris and Rob have also been busy painting the engine room roof bringing a lot more light in!
We haven’t forgotten about the bogie project it is still ongoing as and when we have the time in between other duties, further updates on this will be published soon…
We ran another couple of Driver Experience Courses, one for one of our members ‘Andrew Howe’ who helps out on sales stalls and with general activities within the group the other being for Geoff and David Potter. We hope you all enjoyed the days as much as we all did! We also ran a driver training day which sees another 4 drivers passed out as competent on the 37 which allows greater flexibility within rostering and event planning for the loco.
Traction Magazine has launched a competition, which will be appearing in the next few issues of their magazine. The prize being one of our driver experience days! This will bring our group and the Spa Valley Railway some much needed publicity. For further details please see the ‘Home Page’. A big thanks to Doug Barrow and Traction Magazine for arranging this.
Chris Barrow has launched a print cartridge recycling scheme to generate much needed income, please see below for further details...
Further updates coming soon…
